Ice Realm Youth Hockey League

Divisions: 8U, 10U–17U, & Girls 13–17U High School

Welcome to the League

Get ready for an exciting season of development, competition, and fun at the Ice Realm Youth Hockey League! Whether you're new to the game or a travel player staying sharp, our league is built to support skill growth, sportsmanship, and a love for hockey.

League Format

Game Format:

  • One-hour ice slots (schedule subject to change).

  • If within 1 goal in the final 2 minutes, the clock will stop on whistles.

  • 3-minute warm-up before puck drop.

  • No overtime or shootouts during the regular season.

League Rules & Conduct

Applies to all divisions (8U–17U and Girls 13–17U H.S.):

  • All players must check in before each game.

  • Players must follow the USA Hockey Player Code of Conduct, including:

    • Respect for teammates, coaches, officials, and opponents.

    • Displaying good sportsmanship and a positive attitude.

    • Prioritizing safety, teamwork, and integrity.

  • Neck guards are required for all divisions.

USA Hockey Game Rules:

  • Minor penalties = 2:00 minutes.

  • Teams may ice the puck while shorthanded.

  • Power play goals release the penalized player.

  • Tag-up offsides applies.

  • Body checking is not allowed in any division.

Timeouts:

  • No timeouts during regular season games.

  • One 30-second timeout allowed per team during playoff games.

Ice Realm Scoring Cap Rule:
If a player scores more than three (3) goals in a single game, any additional goals will be awarded to the opposing team. This encourages teamwork and unselfish play.

8U Division Format

  • Games will be played half-ice or cross-ice in accordance with USA Hockey’s development guidelines.

  • Modified rules and detailed formats will be provided separately to all 8U teams.

Playoffs

  • All regular season rules apply.

  • Overtime: One 5-minute, 3-on-3 period, followed by an elimination shootout if necessary. Home team shoots last.

  • The last 2 minutes of the game will be stop-time if game is within 2 goals.

Coaching Opportunities

We are actively seeking passionate, certified coaches to join the Ice Realm family and help shape the next generation of hockey players.

Requirements:

  • Must be USA Hockey- and CAHA-certified.

  • Must be approved by the Ice Realm Hockey Department.
