Position Summary: The Operations Specialist performs a variety of duties to support Ice Realm's operations, including general maintenance, guest services, skate guard, snack bar, pro-shop, scorekeeping, cashier and other tasks assigned by the Manager on Duty (MOD).
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with box office operations and guest services.
Perform general maintenance and cleaning tasks.
Serve as a skate guard and scorekeeper during events.
Support various rink programs and activities as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Versatility and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Customer service experience preferred.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Position Summary: The Zamboni Technician handles supporting the quality of the ice surface, equipment maintenance, and building repairs. This role also involves guest services, supporting operations and other tasks assigned by the Manager on Duty (MOD).
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and support Zamboni machines for the best ice quality.
Perform routine equipment maintenance and repairs.
Conduct building maintenance tasks.
Assist with guest services and other operational duties.
Qualifications:
Experience with Zamboni operations and ice maintenance.
Mechanical aptitude for equipment repairs.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Summary:
The Food Service/Restaurant Supervisor will manage the day-to-day operations of our quick-service restaurant, Bar & Grill, within the Ice Realm ice rinks at Westminster and Carlsbad. This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in culinary operations, customer service excellence, and team leadership. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with knowledge of food service protocols, POS systems (especially Toast), and flexible availability to match the rink's busiest times. This is a hands-on food prep and oversight of operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service Excellence:
Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
Address customer concerns and resolve issues with a proactive and positive approach.
Train staff in customer service best practices to maintain consistent, high-quality experience.
2. Culinary Knowledge & Food Preparation:
Oversee and handle food preparation and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Maintain high food quality standards and work with the team to develop menu offerings that meet customer expectations.
Knowledgeable in cooking techniques, able to assist in food preparation, and train team members on safe and efficient kitchen practices.
3. POS Systems & Cash Handling:
Proficient with POS systems such as Toast; familiar with similar systems for quick adaptability.
Handle daily cash reconciliation, manage transaction accuracy, and ensure security protocols are upheld.
4. Team Leadership & Culture Building:
Recruit, train, and mentor staff, fostering a positive work environment focused on teamwork and productivity.
Implement training programs that emphasize customer service, product knowledge, and food safety.
Encourage a culture of accountability and support team members in reaching their goals.
5. Scheduling & Labor Management:
Develop and adjust work schedules based on rink activity levels to ensure adequate staffing during peak times.
Knowledgeable in labor laws, ensuring compliance with overtime and break requirements.
6. Operational Efficiency & Maintenance:
Oversee equipment setup, maintenance, and proper usage of food service equipment.
Coordinate with vendors for supplies and work with kitchen staff to keep the restaurant well-stocked and operating smoothly.
Handle unexpected repairs and maintenance requests, ensuring minimal downtime.
7. Vendor Relations & Inventory Management:
Build and maintain relationships with top food vendors for quality product sourcing and cost-effective pricing.
Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as necessary to reduce waste and control costs.
8. Health & Safety Compliance:
Enforce strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines as required by local health departments.
Conduct regular health and safety training sessions for staff, promoting a safe environment for both guests and employees.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a food service or quick-service restaurant environment.
Strong culinary knowledge and experience in food preparation.
Exceptional customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
Familiarity with POS systems, specifically Toast or similar software.
Understanding of the labor laws and scheduling flexibility to match peak business hours.
Ability to maintain a positive team culture, motivate staff, and demonstrate a “can-do” attitude.
Previous experience managing vendor relationships, with an understanding of food costs and inventory management.
Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to multitask, and adapt to changing needs within a fast-paced environment.
Desired Skills:
Experience in high-volume food service settings.
ServSafe or similar food handling certification.
Strong communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
Knowledge of basic food cost management and budgeting for food service operations.
Working Conditions:
This role requires flexible hours, including nights and weekends, based on the operational needs of the ice rink. The position involves standing for extended periods and some physical activity, including lifting and setting up equipment.
