Youth Hockey Coordinator

Youth Hockey Coordinator- Westminster (part-Time)

Position Summary:

The YouthHockey Coordinator is responsible for the overall management and growth of hockey programs at Ice Realm. This role focuses on the development of grassroots hockey for both youth players while overseeing the successful execution of leagues, tournaments, and events. The Hockey Coordinator serves as the primary liaison for hockey families, ensuring a positive and engaging experience for all participants.

Key Responsibilities:

Grassroots Hockey Development & Program Growth:

  • Design, implement, and enhance youth hockey development programs to promote skill progression and long-term engagement.
  • Lead initiatives to introduce new players and families to the sport through structured Learn-to-Play and beginner programs.
  • Track and analyze player retention and program growth, implementing strategies to improve conversion from beginner to advanced programs.
  • Work closely with hockey coaches and instructors to ensure high-quality instruction and a positive developmental pathway.

League & Event Management:

  • Oversee youth hockey leagues, ensuring efficient scheduling, team balancing, and competitive structure.
  • Supervise league and tournament operations, working closely with referees, coaches, and rink staff.
  • Coordinate closely with the Programs Administrator and Programs Managers to ensure seamless execution of all hockey-related activities.
  • Maintain hands-on involvement at all Ice Realm-branded hockey events, ensuring a professional and organized experience for participants.
  • Be present for ALL youth hockey events, leagues, programs and initiatives. (Weekends availability and evenings are required)
  • Youth Coordinator role within Ice Realm, reporting to the Programs Managers and EVP focused on executing and growing new programming.

Marketing & Community Engagement:

  • Actively engage in marketing meetings to align hockey program promotions with Ice Realm’s brand strategy.
  • Work with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns for leagues, clinics, and special events.
  • Represent Ice Realm hockey programs at community outreach events and hockey expos to drive awareness and enrollment.
  • Foster relationships with local schools, organizations, and hockey clubs to expand Ice Realm’s reach.

Data Tracking & Program Success Metrics:

  • Maintain scorecards to measure success in grassroots participation, league retention, and program conversions.
  • Regularly evaluate player engagement and program feedback, making data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to player participation, retention rates, and overall program effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in hockey coaching, league coordination, or program management.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with players, parents, coaches, and staff.
  • Passion for hockey development and growing the game at the grassroots level.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and event-based schedules.

This role is vital in driving player retention, program success, and community engagement within Ice Realm’s hockey ecosystem. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, proactive, and dedicated to ensuring a high-quality hockey experience for all participants.

Hockey Coach

Hockey Coach, Skills Instructor

Department: Hockey

Summary:

Instructs Hockey sessions to support all rink hockey programs 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teaching skill development for all Hockey Development programs.
  • Assists with ice set up, pucks, nets, etc.
  • Make sure all interactions with players are fun and productive.
  • Keep players engaged, organized, and safe.
  • Support all rink hockey programs.

Figure Skating Coach

Department: Figure Skating

Reports to:  Manager, Skate Academy Director 

Summary:

Teaching skating skills in groups, supporting company and facility events 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Instructs group classes.
  • Follows the facilities' Learn-to-Skate curriculum (Based on U.S. Figure Skating’s “Learn to Skate USA” model.
  • Assists in the production of facility shows, performances, and competitions.
  • Provide positive feedback when assessing a skater’s skill level. 
  • Promote the company's program information to guests.
  • Comply with instructor guidelines.
  • Maintain a professional approach to a growing clientele.

Zamboni Technician

Zamboni Technician

Position Summary: The Zamboni Technician handles supporting the quality of the ice surface, equipment maintenance, and building repairs. This role also involves guest services, supporting operations and other tasks assigned by the Manager on Duty (MOD).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and support Zamboni machines for the best ice quality.

  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and repairs.

  • Conduct building maintenance tasks.

  • Assist with guest services and other operational duties.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Zamboni operations and ice maintenance.

  • Mechanical aptitude for equipment repairs.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong attention to detail.

Operations Specialist

Position Summary: The Operations Specialist performs a variety of duties to support Ice Realm's operations, including general maintenance, guest services, skate guard, snack bar, pro-shop, scorekeeping, cashier and other tasks assigned by the Manager on Duty (MOD).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with box office operations and guest services.

  • Perform general maintenance and cleaning tasks.

  • Serve as a skate guard and scorekeeper during events.

  • Support various rink programs and activities as needed.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Versatility and ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • Customer service experience preferred.

  • Ability to work flexible hours.
