Off the ice, athletes build connections with future school teammates, fostering camaraderie and a stronger sense of community. Whether you're new to the game or preparing for high school tryouts, this league offers the tools, experience, and guidance to grow with confidence.

Eligibility
  • Open to players in 6th through 9th grade

  • 10th-grade players may participate with league approval

  • Open to Travel and Recreational players

  • Current high school players are not eligible

  • FREE Individual interest skate will be Saturday August 23 at 3:40pm at Ice Realm Westminster


League Format
  • 15 regular season games

  • Championship Game: Top two teams compete

  • Game Format: Three 12-minute stop-time periods (1-hour ice slot)

  • Rinks: Ice Realm Westminster, LA Kings Riverside Icetown, and other local partner arenas

  • All-Star Game: Date and format TBD

  • Practice Ice: Optional, available for team rental

What are the benefits of Jr High Hockey?

Jr. High Hockey has never existed in Southern California before. The main benefit is to prepare players for the rigors of JV and Varsity high school, and to add extra ice time for those playing club level hockey. This league is meant to compliment, not compete, with club hockey.

Where will the games be played?

Ice Realm Westminster and IceTown Riverside, with the possibility of other local rinks.

What is the cost of Jr. High Hockey?

Are There Tryouts?

No tryouts unless a member club already scheduled theirs. There is a free interest skate scheduled for Saturday August 23 at 3:40pm at Ice Realm Westminster. Please Click Here to Register. 

What is the level of play?

Jr. High Hockey is open to co-ed club and rec level players. Prior experience is preferred.

How long is the season?

The season begins the weekend after Labor Day and will conclude in January. An All Star Game will be announced at a future date.
